Bank Negara tells 1MDB to repatriate US$1.83b

Kuala Lumpur

BANK Negara Malaysia has revoked three permissions granted to 1MDB for investments overseas amounting to US$1.83 billion on the basis that its approvals were obtained as a result of inaccurate information.

It has directed the controversial state-owned development company to repatriate the amount back to Malaysia and to submit a plan to the central bank "for this purpose".
