Renowned architect's new project aims to present his people a lifestyle in sync with the natural climate

A NEW project launched by internationally renowned architect Toyo Ito on Omishima, an island in the Seto Inland Sea, is aimed at presenting the Japanese people with a lifestyle that utilises the natural climate and coexists with nature.
Mr Ito, 74, has fully kicked off "the project to make Omishima the most beautiful island in Japan". The goal is to revitalise the island in Imabari, Ehime Prefecture, which has a population of about 6,000.
