[TOKYO] Tokyo's benchmark stock index dropped 2.10 per cent at the open Monday on the back of a plunge in New York as worries about China's economy spark a global equities sell-off.
The Nikkei 225 at the Tokyo Stock Exchange, which tumbled nearly 3.0 per cent on Friday, fell 408.52 points to 19,027.31 in the first few minutes of trading.
