Tokyo: Stocks close up 1.08%

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks rose 1.08 per cent Thursday, boosted by a weaker yen and another rally on Wall Street, as the Federal Reserve remained upbeat on the US economy.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 219.92 points to 20,522.83 while the Topix index of all first-section issues was up 0.81 per cent, or 13.27 points, to 1,647.21.
