UK Conservatives and Labour tied in neck-and-neck race
With just a third of the votes each and no clear lead, sterling is down 14 per cent against US dollar and stock market gets jittery
London
WITH less than three weeks to go before the May 7 UK elections, there remains no clear leader and businesses and foreign investors are encountering a "Catch 22" situation.
The average of polls shows that the Conservative and Labour Parties are still struggling with just over a third of the votes each, despite election manifestos and promised voter bribes. Sunday's YouGov survey places Labour on 36 per cent of the vote with the Tories on 33 per cent, but a second poll by Opinium gave the Conservatives a four-point lead.
