White House appoints Tony Scott as information chief
[WASHINGTON] The White House last week appointed Tony Scott as the government's new chief information officer.
Mr Scott, a former chief information officer at Microsoft and Disney, most recently led the global information technology group at the Palo Alto, California, software firm VMware.
He succeeds Steve VanRoekel, who stepped down in September to advise the government's response to the Ebola crisis. Mr Scott will also serve as administrator for the Office of Management and Budget's Office of Electronic Government and Information Technology, the White House said
