Europe: Stocks close mostly higher

[PARIS] Europe's main stock markets closed mostly higher on Tuesday, although London's FTSE 100 slid 0.12 per cent to 6,829.12 points as mining stocks took a hit.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 index climbed 0.85 per cent to 10,753.83 points, and in Paris the CAC 40 rose 0.96 per cent to 4,695.65 points on hopes of a compromise between Athens and the EU on Greece's rescue programme.
