US retailers looking to a busy holiday shopping season
Trade body expects sales to rise 4.1% and retail chains to hire up to 800,000 temporary workers this year

AS the US economy continues its streak of slow, steady improvement, the National Retail Federation offered an upbeat forecast on Tuesday for the upcoming holiday shopping season.
The trade association expects retail sales to increase 4.1 per cent this November and December to US$616.9 billion - much better than the 3.1 per cent uptick seen last year.
