S'pore will join fight against climate change, says PM Lee

SINGAPORE will do its part to meet climate-change obligations, reduce carbon emissions and improve energy efficiency - even though these moves might impinge on the growth prospects of its energy and chemicals sector, a key growth driver.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said on Thursday that Singapore has grown the petrochemical industry sustainably, but that the industry must, on its part, reduce both greenhouse gases and local pollutants.
