Air France-KLM "firmly denies" Dutch newspaper reports on job cuts
[PARIS] Air France-KLM said it "firmly denies" Dutch newspaper reports that it is planning to slash 7,500 jobs at its Dutch arm, or 25 per cent of the total, largely through outsourcing.
"Following today's reports published in the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad and in yesterday's De Telegraaf, Air France-KLM firmly denies the content of these articles," the airline said in a statement on Tuesday. "The group cannot let circulate pure speculation in the Dutch media, more especially false information and false figures."
The Algemeen Dagblad said the job cuts were expected to be announced at the release of quarterly earnings by the Franco-Dutch carrier on Wednesday, citing the head of the trade union for airline personnel in the Netherlands, De Unie.
