Social e-commerce firm YuuZoo enters gaming market with its first mobile game
NEWLY-listed social e-commerce firm YuuZoo Corporation Limited has entered the gaming market with the launch of its first mobile game, Honey Snatch.
The game, developed with Thailand-based Sandbox, a leading mobile and online game developer, is already available on Apple's iTunes and is to be published on Google Play Store this year.
The world's first physics-based, match-3 mobile puzzle game follows the world of Queen Bee Polly's bee hive, in pursuit of the most amount of honey.
YuuZoo noted that barely a week after its launch on iTunes, Honey Snatch ran up more than 5,000 installations; it also garnered "very positive" player feedback, with short-term retention at 30 to 40 per cent among players.
Sixty per cent of the gamers were playing it more than three minutes on each session, which the group described as "an impressive figure in today's distraction-driven world".
Thomas Zilliacus, the chairman and CEO of YuuZoo, said the new product "opens up significant new revenue opportunities" for the group, in view of the industry's projection of US$23.9 billion in global revenues for mobile games by 2016.
"Gaming is a very lucrative and strongly-growing market segment, which sits very well with our targeted social e-commerce strategy," he said.
The distribution network of YuuZoo has a current reach of more than two billion consumers through its franchisees and partner network.
