KBR's venture in Malaysia stokes fears it will downsize Singapore operations

NEW York-listed KBR, which has hundreds of engineers on its payroll in Singapore, is the latest bigwig engineering firm to enter into a joint venture (JV) with a Malaysian partner.
Coming on the heels of large-cap contracting groups exiting Singapore after setting up JVs in Malaysia, KBR's move stoked market talk over the possibility of the downsizing of its operations here.
