May's election U-turn spooks own ministers

THERESA May's dramatic climbdown from an unpopular policy on elderly care not only spooked ministers who had been kept out of the loop, but sounded the alarm over how she might tackle the issue she's staked her UK election campaign on: Brexit.
The policy, unveiled in her campaign platform on May 18, would have seen the elderly paying for their care until their total wealth fell to £100,000 (S$180,000).
