SDP's Chee sets out promises to residents
Singapore
AS the clock ticked to Cooling-off Day on May 6 and Polling Day on May 7, Chee Soon Juan, the Singapore Democratic Party's (SDP) candidate in the contest for Bukit Batok, promised voters that, if elected, he will become a full-time Member of Parliament (MP), that he will run the Town Council without a managing agent to pass savings back to residents and act as an alternative voice in parliament.
In the final SDP rally on Thursday night, Dr Chee highlighted his plans for Bukit Batok residents and told them they would have a "win-win situation" if they voted for him.
