Jetstar joins Scoot, SIA in ceasing pre-selection of travel insurance
From October 2019, its customers will need to accept or reject travel insurance option during the booking process
Singapore
LOCAL airline Jetstar Asia Airways has agreed to stop pre-selecting travel insurance for consumers in online bookings, joining Scoot and Singapore Airlines (SIA) in the move after the Consumers Association of Singapore (Case) engaged with the three airlines on greater transparency in their ticket pricing and booking process.
In a press statement on Thursday, Case said Jetstar will implement an "opt-neutral" approach for travel insurance from October 2019, in which consumers will need to make a selection to either accept or reject travel insurance during the booking process.
