New S-Class reveals Mercedes' changing face
Stuttgart
PANDEMICS come and go - but at Mercedes-Benz, the S-Class is eternal. "It's our flagship, it's something where the whole company goes the extra mile," said Ola Kallenius, chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz AG and its parent, Daimler AG.
Speaking to The Business Times on the phone just hours before the new S-Class' virtual global premiere on Wednesday, Mr Kallenius sounded upbeat about the company's signature product, a car that Mercedes claims is the world's best-selling luxury saloon. It sold 500,000 of the last edition in seven years, nearly 3,000 in Singapore.
