Engineering expertise still wanted: PM Lee

ENGINEERING expertise will continue to be needed in the next phase of Singapore's nation building, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said on Friday night.
Speaking at a reunion dinner for the first batch of engineering graduates at the Nanyang Technological Institute - Nanyang Technological University's (NTU) predecessor - Mr Lee, who was the guest-of-honour, indicated that the key performance indicators (KPIs) for universities here should not be how high they rank against other universities, but how well they serve Singapore.
