Inverted Edge's e-commerce platform thrives
Running e-commerce store fronts for other retailers adds to its growing revenue
EARLY investment in its e-commerce technology is paying off for local fashion online business Inverted Edge. Its CEO and founder, Debra Langley, told BizIT that the year-old business is seeing revenue grow, and that a burgeoning portion of that is coming from it running the e-commerce store fronts for other retailers.
In January, Inverted Edge struck a deal with Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) to launch an online store on SPH's herworldPLUS network. The two are working to replicate the model across other publications and product categories within SPH's network. Since then, the dotcom has started to build sites for others as well, including recently launched styletribute.com, which carries second-hand luxury items. Inverted Edge is also in discussions with a Korean publisher, Ms Langley revealed.
All of this is thanks to its early investment in its e-commerce platform, based on open source content management system (CMS) Magento.
