Hong Kong: Shares close with gains
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks ended Monday with gains thanks to bargain-buying after swinging through the day, but investors remain on edge following another sharp drop on Wall Street.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.38 per cent, or 94.41 points, to 24,812.04.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index shed 2.18 per cent, or 56.75 points, to 2,542.10, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, sank 2.02 per cent, or 26.04 points, to 1,264.58.
