Tokyo: Stocks extend global rally at open

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks edged higher at the open Friday after four straight days of gains and as Wall Street powered to fresh records.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index ticked up 0.06 per cent, or 10.23 points, to 16,396.12 in opening deals, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares rose 0.33 per cent, or 4.27 points, to 1,315.43.
