Tokyo: Stocks open higher as yen drops

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Wednesday, with investor sentiment buoyed by gains on Wall Street and a cheaper yen.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index climbed 1.45 per cent, or 339.00 points, to 23,759.54 in early trade while the broader Topix was up 1.32 per cent, or 23.18 points, at 1,783.06.
