Cisco confident of bouncing back in Asia
Asean, Korea still strong regional growth markets, writes AMIT ROY CHOUDHURY
DESPITE facing a tough quarter in the Asia Pacific, Japan and China (APJC) region, network, cloud and security vendor Cisco is optimistic about long-term growth in the region.
Speaking to BizIT, Cisco's new APJ president Irving Tan noted that while bookings for the region declined 5 per cent year-on-year in the 2014 fiscal third quarter which ended on April 26 on account of market contraction in China and India, the Asean region grew in double digits and Korea also saw good growth.
"The first thing to understand is that Asia Pacific isn't one homogeneous large country. The region is so diverse that we will not see the same rate of adoption of technologies or applications," Mr Tan said.
