IT'S been almost a year since the EU's data privacy regulation took effect. Despite causing a flurry of activity and debates on its impact on businesses globally, the success of this regulation remains unclear.
Some critics might argue that the regulation will end up being detested by those impacted the most, die a slow bureaucratic death or slow down Europe's innovation efforts. However, one year on, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) can also be seen as a blessing, boosting organisations' cyber immunity on a global scale.
