20 injured as HK-bound plane hits turbulence
Incident occurred over KL, says South African Airways
[HONG KONG] At least 20 people were injured when a passenger jet from South Africa to Hong Kong hit "severe" turbulence yesterday with two men seriously hurt, officials in the southern Chinese city said.
The injured were stretchered away at Hong Kong's airport into ambulances that had been waiting for the South African Airways (SAA) jet from Johannesburg to land after the crew reported problems.
Passengers told local media of the mid-air drama with one describing it as "like the end of the world".
