Flights delayed after fire at Changi T2
Singapore
A SMALL fire broke out at Changi Airport's Terminal 2 (T2) departure hall on Tuesday evening, prompting the evacuation of the terminal and flights being diverted to Terminal 3 (T3).
Changi Airport said on Facebook that the fire alarm was activated at T2 at about 5.40pm due to smoke coming through the air vents. The Police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were both on site to manage the incident. In a Facebook post a little after 7pm, the SCDF said that the fire had been extinguished using a hosereel jet, and later updated that three persons had been sent to hospital for smoke inhalation.
