Tough job representing bunker industry
This complex sector is entering a period of great change and adjusting to new realities will be difficult
A GROUP from within Singapore's bunkering community has formed an association, following on from a Maritime Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) dialogue session with bunker surveyors in June.
In a statement, the new body said that it had received "very positive encouragements and counsel" from the MPA during the session and that "we have met on numerous occasions to explore how best to move the initiative forward".
Last week's announcement also said: "We are happy to update that the group have since formed a Protem Committee and registered the Association of Bunker Industry (Singapore) on July 29, 2016 with the Registry of Societies (ROS)."
