Indonesia determined to create downstream sector

INDONESIA is bullish on its vision to create its own downstream industry, strengthened by the approval of environmental impact studies for factories to produce battery-grade nickel chemicals in Morowali.
"Lithium batteries are going to play a very important role in the near future because in Europe, by 2025, there will be no more combustion cars over there," said Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs & Investment at the sidelines of an investors event organised by DBS Bank.
