ComfortDelGro's Q3 profit up 2.5% to S$87.3m
COMFORTDELGRO'S net profit for the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2016, rose 2.5 per cent to S$87.3 million even as group revenue fell 3.1 per cent to S$1.015 billion due to a negative foreign currency effect.
The land transport giant said if not for the unfavourable translation effect of S$47.9 million due to the weaker pound and renminbi, group revenue would have increased by S$15.5 million.
Q3 earnings per share increased to 4.05 Singapore cents from 3.97 Singapore cents in the same period a year ago. No dividend has been declared.
For the first nine months, net profit was 5.2 per cent higher at S$245.9 million although group revenue slipped 0.5 per cent to S$3.033 billion.
Year-to-date earnings per share were 11.42 cents, up from 10.90 cents previously.
