Petronas seen delaying LNG final investment decision
Development of Kasawari field derailed after oil-linked LNG spot cargo prices in Asia fall by more than half
Singapore
PETRONAS is set to postpone a final investment decision (FID) on a second field development in Block SK 316 off Sarawak, amid uncertainty over any recovery in oil-linked liquefied natural gas prices.
An FID on the Kasawari gas field development that was postponed from late 2015 to early 2016, as reported in Energy Intelligence, is likely to slip further along with a delay in the target first gas, The Business Times understands. Sources said that production start-up at Kasawari would be postponed to 2021, from 2017.
