Tokyo: Stocks close up 0.29% ahead of US jobs data

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks recovered early losses to close 0.29 per cent higher on Friday as investors bet on strong US jobs data later in the day, while awaiting more Japanese corporate earnings.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange rose 60.12 points to 20,724.56, while the Topix index of all first-section shares was up 0.34 per cent, or 5.61 points, to 1,679.19.
