Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance gets S'pore licence
Singapore
PROPERTY and casualty insurer Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) says that its non-life insurance licence in Singapore - the first for the US conglomerate in Asia - is "a first but important step" in its emerging markets expansion plans.
The insurer, which already has an insurance presence in Asia through its reinsurer unit Gen Re, said that it will offer commercial property, casualty, financial lines, marine, energy and construction coverage.
