Solar-powered family car coming soon?
The Dutch creation produces more power than it needs
[SINGAPORE] Fancy a sustainable, non-polluting family car that produces more energy than it uses which can be sold back to the power grid?
Such an energy-positive vehicle could come on the market if the students at Eindhoven University of Technology can find a manufacturer to produce their solar-powered four-seater car, which won a gold medal at the World Solar Challenge in Australia.
One-and-a-half years ago, the Solar Team Eindhoven from the Netherlands wondered if there was an alternative to the electric car which was just as silent and emission-free but with a much longer range than the usual 180 to 200 km. They came up with the solar-powered family car.
