SATS seeking to ramp up productivity with innovation
Ground-handler will employ technology and robotics to enhance its operations amid tight labour market
Singapore
GROUND-HANDLER SATS is aiming to boost productivity further as it implements new technological solutions for its business units, ranging from cooking robots to a smart wheelchair system.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), the Economic Development Board and SATS have collectively committed to invest some S$110 million towards a new technology innovation "centre", which could fund up to 200 projects for the company. While not a physical centre, TechnIC@SATS will spearhead the efforts to improve productivity and enhance SATS' operations amid a tight labour market.
