Singapore
ELEVEN mid and small-capitalisation companies including Qian Hu Corporation, Rotary Engineering and Tuan Sing Holdings have been given the thumbs-up for their corporate governance processes in a new index.
The Governance Evaluation for Mid and Small Cap (GEMS) was launched in April, and is designed to better assess and rate the governance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), covering firms listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) with a market value of no more than S$500 million - representing 80 per cent of Singapore-listed companies.
