Directors step up buying and pull back on selling

THE buying remained high while the selling among directors fell based on filings on the Singapore Exchange from Sept 5 to 9. Buyers outweighed sellers with 21 companies that recorded 45 purchases worth S$4.1 million versus one firm with one disposal worth S$0.008 million.

The number of companies and trades on the buying side were not far off from the previous week's 23 firms and 42 purchases while the value was up from the previous week's acquisitions worth S$3.6 million. The sales, on the other hand, were sharply down from the previous week's two companies, six disposals and S$1.93 million.

Meanwhile, the buyback activity fell with 24 companies that posted 60 repurchases worth S$17.4 million. The figures were down from the previous week's 26 firms, 81 trades and S$31 million.
