Eyes on China after Golden Week

Published Sun, Oct 7, 2018 · 09:50 PM

EYES will be on Chinese markets as they resume after the Golden Week holiday and news on Sunday that China's central bank made moves to lower financing costs and spur growth due to effects of its trade dispute with the US.

Last Friday, Bloomberg Businessweek reported that "spy chips" were planted in Chinese-made computer components used at almost 30 US firms, including Amazon and Apple. This could weigh on Chinese stocks and stoke political flames further.

Apple, Amazon and the Chinese government have disputed the Bloomberg Businessweek report.
