Rainmaking teams up with ESG to launch supply-chain focused accelerator

Published Thu, Jun 17, 2021 · 08:00 AM

CORPORATE innovation firm Rainmaking has teamed up with Enterprise Singapore (ESG) to launch an accelerator focused on the transport and logistics sector.

The programme, called the Supply Chain Resilience Accelerator, will back at least 20 startups from Singapore that specialise in supply-chain solutions.

Aiming to strengthen local and global supply chains, it will focus on startups that can help in end-to-end visibility, automation, analytics and sustainability. Rainmaking will nurture the shortlisted startups, foster valuable startup-corporate engagements to drive scalable pilots, and provide access to investment opportunities, it said in a statement on Thursday.

Angela Noronha, director for open innovation at Rainmaking, said that the Covid-19 crisis has "exposed the fragility of global trade".

"Piloting outside tech can be an incredibly efficient way to test viable solutions to big problems, provided you de-risk and design for scale. Our programme does precisely this by helping corporate decision-makers and startups to work on compelling business opportunities, anticipate operational risks, and ultimately co-create solutions fit for wider industry adoption," se said.

Rainmaking has started to engage organisations in different industry verticals as corporate partners to run pilots from Singapore. Agriculture giant Cargill is among the first corporate partners of the programme.
