China's economic reforms 'impressive but uneven'

IMF mission also calls for "greater urgency" in implementing remaining reforms

CHINA is making "impressive but uneven" progress in its major economic reform drive, an International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission reported on Tuesday while calling for "greater urgency" in implementing remaining reforms.

The world's second-largest economy stands at a crucial juncture in its development path, IMF first deputy managing director David Lipton said while expressing confidence that China will be able to meet the challenges ahead.
