Vintage fashion is all the rage online
The founders of The Fifth Collection developed proprietary software to sniff out counterfeit luxury goods to gain an edge in a competitive market.
HAVE you ever questioned the authenticity of a luxury good as a gift? More often than not, luxury gifts we receive from loved ones may not be as "real" as we had hoped or assumed them to be.
"And believe it or not, they are often from the mother-in-law," shared Nejla Matam-Finn, co-founder of The Fifth Collection, a Singapore-based online provider of vintage fashion and second-hand luxury goods. "It's true - it's crazy but I don't know why."
Wherever there are luxury goods involved, there will be the issue of counterfeiting. The Fifth Collection, founded in 2014 by Mrs Matam-Finn and husband Michael Finn, focuses on minimising this problem in the Singapore market, as the prices of luxury goods already tend to be much higher in Asia.
