Europe: Stocks gain ground at open

[LONDON] Europe's main stock markets each rose by about 0.3 per cent in opening deals on Tuesday, as investors returned to action after the long holiday weekend.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of major blue-chip companies advanced to 7,223 points compared with Friday's closing level.
In the eurozone, the Paris CAC 40 index climbed to 5,284.88 points and Frankfurt's DAX 30 increased to 12,478.46.
