Stocks to watch: Raffles Medical, Elite Commercial Reit, Golden Energy, Centurion Corp

THE following companies saw new developments that may affect trading of their securities on Monday (Feb 21):

Raffles Medical Group: BSL The mainboard-listed private healthcare provider on Monday reported a net profit of S$44.7 million for the second half of the financial year ended Dec 31, 2021, declining 8.1 per cent from S$48.6 million the year before. This was mainly due to high tax expenses in H2 FY2021, the group said. The board has recommended a final dividend of S$0.028 for FY2021. The counter closed at S$1.31, up 1.6 per cent or S$0.02, on Friday.

Elite Commercial Reit: MXNU : MXNU 0% Its manager on Monday announced a distribution per unit (DPU) of 2.80 pence for the half-year ended Dec 31, up 12.4 per cent from 2.49 pence the previous year. This brings the real estate investment trust's (Reit) DPU for FY2021 to 5.43 pence, representing a 22.3 per cent increase from its FY2020 DPU of 4.44 pence and beating the IPO (initial public offering) projection by 11.3 per cent. Units of the Reit closed at 66.5 pence on Friday, up half a pence or 0.8 per cent.

Golden Energy and Resources (GEAR): AUE The energy and resources company posted on Friday a growth in net profit for the 6 months ended Dec 31, 2021 on the back of stronger revenue. Revenue grew 87 per cent year on year, bringing net profit to US$85.2 million, up from a loss of US$8.4 million in the year-ago period. Shares of GEAR closed down 1.3 per cent or S$0.005 to S$0.37 on Friday before the financial results were announced.

Centurion Corporation: OU8 The property management company said on Friday that it expects to record a "substantial increase" in net profit attributable to equity holders of the company for FY2021. This growth in net profit is projected to be not less than 200 percent compared to the S$17.2 million recorded in the year ago period. Centurion shares closed flat at S$0.335 on Friday, before the announcement.

Multi-Chem: AWZ The IT distribution company reported on Friday a 28 per cent increase in H2 net profit to S$13.4 million for the 6 months ended Dec 31, 2021, up from the S$10.5 million in the prior-year period. A final dividend of S$0.069 was proposed, which brought the total dividend for the year to S$0.111, an improvement from the S$0.066 total dividend in 2020. Shares of Multi-Chem closed up 0.5 per cent or S$0.01 to S$1.84 on Friday, before the earnings announcement was made.

CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust (CICT): C38U The manager of the Reit said on Friday that CMT MTN, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CICT, has issued HK$900 million (S$155.3 million) worth of 2.95 per cent fixed rate notes due Feb 18, 2031 to institutional and/or sophisticated investors. The proceeds from the notes will be used to finance or refinance eligible green projects undertaken by the group. Units of CICT closed at S$2.14 on Friday, up 0.5 per cent or S$0.01, before the announcement.
