Stocks to watch: Sembcorp, Keppel, Frasers Property, ThaiBev, SIIC Environment, Econ Healthcare

THE following companies saw new developments that may affect trading of their securities on Monday:

Sembcorp Industries: The group said on Monday that it has received notice from major customer Eastman Chemical Singapore to terminate its utilities services agreement following the latter's exit from its manufacturing site operations on Jurong Island. Eastman's contribution was 5 per cent of Sembcorp's FY2020 net profit before exceptional items, from continuing operations. Shares of Sembcorp closed at S$1.94 on Friday, down S$0.04 or 2 per cent.

Keppel Corporation: Its wholly-owned subsidiary, Keppel Shipyard, is in advanced discussions with Petrobras for a contract to build a floating production storage and offloading vessel for the Buzios field off Brazil. The company said in an exchange filing that no definitive agreement was reached as at Friday. Keppel Corp shares closed unchanged on Friday at S$5.43, before the announcement.

Frasers Property Limited: The real estate developer and manager on Monday announced that its subsidiaries had jointly obtained a A$300 million (S$309.1 million) five-year syndicated sustainability-linked loan, which the group says will help to deploy clean energy technologies in two Australian industrial projects. Shares of Frasers Property ended Friday up S$0.03 or 2.5 per cent at S$1.25.

Thai Beverage Public Co (ThaiBev): The beer and liquor giant said on Friday that it will defer the proposed spin-off and listing of its subsidiary BeerCo on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) due to "uncertain market conditions and volatile outlook, aggravated by the worsening Covid-19 pandemic in Thailand and other countries". The listing was to be deferred "for the time being", the company said in an exchange filing. ThaiBev shares fell 0.7 per cent or 0.5 Singapore cent on Friday to close at 74.5 cents, before the announcement.

SIIC Environment: The mainboard-listed water treatment and environmental protection company announced on Friday that it signed water treatment projects in the city of Jiaxing in Zhejiang province. It noted in an exchange filing that its 92.15 per cent Pinghu Dushan Wastewater Treatment signed a supplemental agreement on the Pinghu City Eastern wastewater treatment plant project. The total investment value of the agreement was around 750 million yuan (S$155.6 million). SIIC shares closed unchanged on Friday at S$0.21, before the announcement.

Econ Healthcare: The private nursing home operator has received applications from investors for 86.9 times the number of shares available in the public portion of its initial public offering (IPO), it said on Friday. With 1.8 million shares available to the public for subscription, it received 3,371 valid applications for around 156.5 million shares, with application monies received amounting to about S$43.8 million. The listing and trading of shares in Econ Healthcare on the Catalist board of the SGX is expected to commence at 9am on Monday.
