Tokyo: Shares open 1.02% lower

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened 1.02 per cent lower Tuesday on lingering worries over China's economy even as US shares mostly gained.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange fell 180.38 points, to 17,517.58 after being closed on Monday for a holiday.
The Topix index of all first-section shares fell 1.39 per cent, or 10.18 points, to 1,427.14.
