Fire-fallout freebies for SingTel's home customers
StarHub to unveil details of its own 'gesture of goodwill and appreciation'
Singapore
SINGTEL is going the whole hog, offering months of freebies to customers affected by service disruptions after last Wednesday's fire at its Bukit Panjang exchange. Even so, the question of compensation for the telco's corporate customers, which include banks and other large businesses, remains an open one.
On the residential end, all 60,000 of SingTel's affected broadband customers will get three months' worth of free speed boost, the telco said yesterday. At the same time, the 44,000 affected mio TV customers will have a whole month of free channel surfing across all of the pay-TV service's channels. The affected customers on the telco's fixed copper line network, who may also be SingTel's fibre customers, will have a month of free local calls for their troubles.
