MH370 crashed into Indian Ocean: Najib
Families told no survivors after new analysis of data by Inmarsat and UK air accidents unit; Malaysian PM to hold another briefing today with more details
[SINGAPORE] Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 - which disappeared 17 days ago with 239 people on board - went down in the southern Indian Ocean, said Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak at a press conference last night.
He said that according to new analysis of satellite data tracking the flight, the jet flew along the southern corridor and its last position was west of Perth.
"This is a remote location, far from any possible landing sites. It is therefore with deep sadness and regret that I must inform you that, according to this new data, flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean," said Mr Najib in a televised news conference in Kuala Lumpur.
