TRUTH and trust have always been at the core of both media and communication. The foundations for this trust have now been damaged with social media enabling anyone to deliberately publish hoaxes, propaganda, and disinformation. The consequences are very real for business, government and even individuals. Regulatory and legal actions have mostly not worked, instead impinging on freedom of speech and creating confusion about legal jurisdiction. Platforms have also moved to address the issue but regulating groups and conversations has proven difficult, if not impossible.
