Screen And Stage Classic
Not much needs to be said about The Lion King.
The hit 1994 Disney cartoon was turned into a Broadway musical three years later and since then, more than 90 million people around the world have watched it on stage, probably more than once too. Featuring the music of Elton John and Tim Rice, the stage adaptation has won over 70 international theatre awards. It's the third longest-running show on Broadway and also the highest-grossing ever, with international productions playing concurrently all over the world, including one that returns to Singapore for a limited run.
The musical uses a mix of puppetry and dance to tell the story of a cub, Simba, who believes he caused his father's death and only confronts the truth when he grows up. Prepare to sing along to classics like Circle of Life and Can You Feel the Love Tonight.
