Serial System taps China demand for king of fruits
Group buying 27.5% stake in Malaysian durian company as it bets on higher demand for the fruit in China

DURIANS are in season and, it seems, for Serial System too. The electronics component distributor is entering into a joint venture (JV) to invest in a Malaysian durian company.
The firm is betting on higher demand for durians in China following a gift of 43 durians from Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak to Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to China in May, Serial System executive chairman and CEO Derek Goh told The Business Times.
