Clever satirical take on the horror genre
THERE'S nothing scarier than realising you've bought a ticket for a horror film so full of cliches you get that sense of deja vu you've seen it all before 15 minutes in.
Thankfully that doesn't happen in Get Out, the directorial debut of comedian-writer Jordan Peele, one half of comic duo Key and Peele who have their own series on the Comedy Central network.
The movie is essentially Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967) reimagined with a horror twist, and like the Scream franchise (1996-2011), it reinvents the slasher genre to give it a fresh spin.
