IT may be the biggest corruption scandal since Indonesia embarked on its road to democracy at the end of the last century.
Lawmakers are investigating whether the Speaker of the House, Setya Novanto, along with one of the country's most powerful businessmen, sought a US$4 billion stake in the local unit of US mining giant Freeport McMoRan in exchange for help to renew its operating contract.
